The mission of the Sacred Heart University Alumni Association is to: Foster relationships between present and future alumni with the University by enriching the professional and personal lives of all alumni; Recognize alumni contributions to the University community and to society as a whole; and enhance the growth, development and advancement of the University while supporting mutual respect and understanding amongst a diverse alumni body.
Cheryl Janus ’01, ’03 MAT
Originally from Clark, NJ, Cheryl graduated from Sacred Heart with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Sports Management. She was actively involved on campus, serivng as a resident assistant for two years, a senior resident assistant, and a proud sister of the sorority Nu Epsilon Omega (now Kappa Delta.) While in Connecticut, she worked as the Merchandise Coordinator for the 1999 Atlantic League Champion Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball team. She received her bachelor's degree on 2001 and her MAT from SHU's Lisbon campus in 2003.
Cheryl now lives in New Providence, NJ and works as the Assistant Director of Housing Operations and Marketing for Seton Hall University. She received the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers "Excelllence in Operations Award" and the 2012 Seton Hall Univeristy "Spirit of Seton Hall Award" for her dedication to serving students and their families. She enjoys traveling, college basketball, and writes a blog on higher education. She is working towards her second master's degree - this time through Seton Hall's Strategic Communications program.
Janus served as Vice President of the Alumni Executive Council (now the Alumni Board of Directors) for two years and received the "Outstanding Alumni Council Member Award" in 2011 for her dedication and organization.
