Sacred Heart University alumni demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their daily lives. They use their knowledge, professional skills, creative talents and humanistic strengths to make a difference in their careers and communities. Many are deserving of these awards.
Awards will be distributed at the Alumni Awards Luncheon during our annual Homecoming Weekend.
Alumni Achievement Award
The Alumni Achievement Award is given to an individual who has made a significant and positive impact in their field or profession. This award is the highest honor bestowed on an alumnus.
The Pioneer Award is given to an individual who has made an impact through service in their community or for other humanitarian efforts which reflect the mission of Sacred Heart University.
Young Alumni Achievement Award
The Young Alumni Achievement Award is given to an individual who has graduated within the past 10 years and has made significant contributions to his or her profession or community in that short period of time.
Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year Award is bestowed upon an alumnus in recognition of outstanding contribution or significant service within the Sacred Heart University community.
The Alumni Faculty/Staff award is bestowed on an individual staff or faculty member who has demonstrated consistent dedication and superior service to the University and alumni community. The award is given to a current or retired University employee. Recipients need not to be an alumnus.
College Alumni Leadership Award
The College Alumni Leadership Award awards are bestowed upon six outstanding individuals who matriculated from each respective college at Sacred Heart University.
Award nominees should meet the following criteria:
• Hold a degree from Sacred Heart University (except for the Alumni Faculty/Staff Award)
• Award winners must be present to receive the award at the Awards Luncheon at Homecoming in the fall.
Nomination Review & Process
Nominations for the Awards will be accepted from any alumni of Sacred Heart University, the student body, faculty, and staff of the University. Self-nominations are welcome. Names of nominators will not be published.
